Senior Business Analyst

Austroads is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support the Enterprise Solutions Manager, to ensure the successful completion of IT projects- supporting the realization of the Austroads strategic business plan.

The Job:

Reporting to the Enterprise Solutions Manager the Senior Business Analyst will perform high level analysis to develop solutions, business cases and data models. Additionally, responsibilities include:

  • developing detailed requirement specifications, ensuring alignment with existing systems and strategy
  • providing guidance to other team members who are involved in analysis activities
  • supporting the testing services, by creating test plans and cases, conducting system testing and resolving issues
  • providing project management services for applications development and BAU projects

About You:

You will have proven experience in a senior business/system analysis role in ICT operations and / or applications development, and high-level analytical and problem-solving skills. You will have an advanced experience in requirements development, data modelling, and business systems design, and sound knowledge of web services frameworks, messaging systems (e.g. MQ series). Additionally, you will have practical experience with relational databases and an understanding of SQL script writing. Knowledge of BABOK, UML, BPMN, waterfall and Agile methodologies would be considered an advantage.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent task and priority management skills, experience in data, business, and functional analysis, data modelling, process mapping, and designing and writing specifications for business systems. You will approach your work with a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion, and have a commitment to OH&S, EEO and quality practices.

The position is based in Sydney and the successful candidate will be required to undergo a National Police Check.
