How to use the On-Board Mass (OBM) System Functional and Technical Specification
The On-Board Mass (OBM) System Functional and Technical Specification may be used in two ways:
- By suppliers of OBM Systems investigating and/or planning to apply for type‑approval
- By Transport Operators and users wishing to make informed procurement decisions about OBM Systems.
Note: TCA cannot and does not make any representation that OBM Systems that have not been type-approved by TCA satisfy the requirements of the Specification. It is solely the responsibility of the user to satisfy themselves whether a non-type approved OBM System meets the Specification and that the Supplier is a legitimate business with sufficient financial standing.
In time, transport operators and users will benefit from having competition and choice in type-approved OBM Systems, as they become available in the marketplace.
