Transport Certification Australia (TCA) has certified WHG Telematics as an Application Service Provider (ASP) under the National Telematics Framework.
The certification encompasses type-approval of WHG’s telematics device and their Smart On-Board Mass (OBM) system, FleetWEIGH Smart Scales – which has been developed by WHG in partnership with Trail-Link and SKT Technologies.
Being certified means that WHG can offer the full breadth of Telematics Monitoring Application (TMA) and Road Infrastructure Management (RIM) schemes being made available to transport operators. Through FleetWEIGH, WHG will offer TMA with Smart OBM as a combined service offering.
TCA’s General Manager Strategy and Delivery, Gavin Hill, welcomed WHG as a new TCA certified application service provider.
“This demonstrates how technology providers are continuing to evolve their service offerings to meet customers’ needs. It also highlights the performance-based approach of the National Telematics Framework which promotes innovation and technological developments,” he said.
TCA has type-approved FleetWEIGH Smart Scales as a Category B Smart OBM system. This means the system is suitable for use with National Telematics Framework schemes that require heavy vehicle operators to capture vehicle axle mass measurements as digital records.
Dylan Hartley, WHG’s Director of Operations, emphasised the company’s commitment to addressing local technology needs within the ports, freight, transport and road safety sectors.
“Being a proudly Australian technology company, our vision has centred around developing products that resonate with our local needs, with a commitment to understand global industry products and trends, allowing us to offer leading approved technology solutions.
“TCA’s type-approval of the WHG telematics device and FleetWEIGH Smart Scales fortifies our commitment to delivering top-notch telematics solutions tailored for our Aussie customers,” Mr Hartley said.
FleetWEIGH Smart Scales provides wireless connectivity to provide real-time weight information on a tablet.
TCA’s type-approval process involves a comprehensive assessment of the device against the performance-based requirements in the Telematics Device Functional and Technical Specification and/or the On-Board Mass System Functional and Technical Specification.
