RIM Industry-Led Data-Sharing Schemes (AUS)

About the scheme group

RIM Industry-Led Data-Sharing Schemes (AUS) are a group of schemes that allow Australian industry associations to collect vehicle movement data and other related data types from participating transport operators.

Development of schemes in this group is led by Australian industry associations and their member organisations, in collaboration with Transport Certification Australia (TCA).

The collected data is used to visualise aggregated and anonymised vehicle movements to improve decision-making and risk management and enhance operational efficiency.

These schemes use the Road Infrastructure Management (RIM) application of the National Telematics Framework.

Who can participate

To participate in a RIM Industry-Led Data-Sharing Scheme, a transport operator must complete the ASP Consent Agreement for RIM Industry-Led Data-Sharing Schemes (AUS) and meet any scheme rules and entry conditions pertaining to the schemes it is eligible to enrol in.

Data access rules

De-identified and aggregated data collected through the RIM Industry-Led Data-Sharing Schemes (AUS) is made available to authorised data users through the Telematics Analytics Platform.

Endorsement by a dedicated consultative body, consisting of industry representatives relevant to the scheme, is a requirement for accessing the data.

Transport operators participating in a RIM Industry-Led Data-Sharing Scheme may request access to reports and analytics from data generated by their own vehicle(s). Access will be subject to approval by the consultative body.
