Tramanco, a long-term Smart OBM supplier, now certified to deliver TMA and RIM services

13 May 2025

Transport Certification Australia (TCA) has certified Tramanco as an Application Service Provider (ASP) under the National Telematics Framework.

Being certified means that Tramanco can offer the full breadth of Telematics Monitoring Application (TMA) and Road Infrastructure Management (RIM) schemes being made available to transport operators.

This development builds upon Tramanco being a supplier of type-approved Smart OBM systems since 2018.

A core element of Tramanco’s certification is the hardware options available to transport operators.

Tramanco’s existing CHEK-WAY Eliminator CWE-5300 Smart OBM system can now be combined with its CWE-5500 TNW type-approved telematics device. Together they provide a single integrated system which can be used for RIM and TMA applications.

“The type-approval of Tramanco’s CHEK-WAY Eliminator as a single telematics device and Smart OBM system, marks a significant milestone within the National Telematics Framework”, said Paddy Goodall, General Manager Service Delivery at Austroads. Paddy commended Tramanco on this milestone, describing it as an outstanding contribution to advancing innovation in the transport industry.

“This achievement reflects the natural evolution of the market and the intent behind the National Telematics Framework itself – to enable innovation and advancement through an open, flexible, and technology-neutral platform driven by the needs of the transport industry,” said Paddy.

Vehicles fitted with the Tramanco Smart OBM system (CHEK-WAY Eliminator CWE-5300) have the capability of being connected to CWE-5500 TNW to form a single integrated system.

“We’re proud to be certified as an Application Service Provider under the National Telematics Framework,” said Roger Sack, Managing Director at Tramanco. “This certification allows us to offer transport operators a fully integrated solution that combines our trusted CHEK-WAY Eliminator Smart OBM system with our newly type-approved telematics device. It’s a major step forward in delivering efficient, reliable, and scalable technologies that support safer and smarter transport operations.”

Details of telematics devices type approved by TCA are available on the TCA website.
