Annual Report 2024–25

Austroads’ annual report 2024-25 highlights a year of strong performance, innovation, and collaboration across Australia and New Zealand’s transport sector. It shows how Austroads works closely with its members – transport agencies representing all levels of government in both countries – and industry partners to deliver safer, more efficient, and sustainable transport systems.
The report provides a detailed review of our progress in implementing the Austroads Strategic Plan 2023–27, including initiatives to improve climate resilience, support freight decarbonisation, and strengthen governance. It also includes our financial performance and audited financial statements.
Key achievements during 2024–25 include:
- Delivery of 101 publications and updates to nine national guides, supporting harmonised practice and improved productivity across jurisdictions.
- Modernisation of the Telematics Analytics Platform, reducing data latency from eight weeks to hours for near real-time insights.
- Record participation in training programs, with more than 17,000 workers trained under the National Training Framework for Temporary Traffic Management and over 1,500 roadside barrier installers and designers completing new safety training.
- Hosting the 12th Austroads Bridge Conference, attracting over 600 delegates and nearly 300 technical papers – the largest in our history.
- Strengthening international partnerships, including a new agreement with AASHTO and continued collaboration with PIARC to shape global best practice.
The report is designed for our member organisations but will also be relevant to transport practitioners, policymakers, and anyone interested in transport trends, government policy, and future investment priorities. It serves as a public record of the value delivered through public investment in Austroads.
