Using rest area information

For telematics providers

A live stream of information is available for technology providers and transport operators through the TIX web API. 

The heavy vehicle rest area data set is also available as a downloadable human-readable data file.

For transport operators managing telematics systems

Ask your technology administrator to use the national heavy vehicle rest area information. The heavy vehicle rest area data set is available as a downloadable human-readable data file and through a web API.

For telematics users

Ask your technology administrator or telematics provider to use the national heavy vehicle rest area information.

Rest area information currently available:

  • Heavy vehicle rest areas on the Queensland state-controlled road network
  • Heavy vehicle rest areas on the South Australian state-controlled road network
  • Informal heavy vehicle rest areas on the Queensland and New South Wales state-controlled road networks
