TCA recognises MiX by Powerfleet as a service provider for both RIM and TMA

15 October 2024

Transport Certification Australia (TCA) is pleased to announce that MiX by Powerfleet, a registered provider of Road Infrastructure Management (RIM) services, has been certified for the Telematics Monitoring Application (TMA).

MiX by Powerfleet was registered by TCA as a RIM service provider in early 2024.

TMA and RIM applications collect telematics data from vehicles to help optimise the management of road networks. As part of its role in the National Telematics Framework, TCA certifies telematics application service providers and type-approves telematics devices and other related technologies.

TCA’s certification of MiX by Powerfleet includes the type-approval of its telematics device, MiX4401-B, which can be used with both RIM and TMA applications.

Paddy Goodall, General Manager of Service Delivery, congratulated MiX by Powerfleet on the recognition.

“The interest shown by telematics service providers like MiX by Powerfleet to enhance their service offering in relation to the National Telematics Framework corresponds with a growing interest from road authorities, at all levels of government, to leverage data from telematics and other technologies to improve network management, enhance productivity and streamline decision-making,” he said.

“The certification recognises MiX by Powerfleet’s ability to satisfy TCA’s performance-based functional and technical requirements for the TMA application and to provide the level of assurance sought by stakeholders,” he added.

MiX by Powerfleet Managing Director, Brodie von Berg, said the recognition by TCA was an important milestone for the company.

“Providing services in relation to TMA, in addition to RIM, is another important milestone in ensuring our current and future customers can leverage our Unity ecosystem to aid operational processes,” he said.

“Fleet operators are faced with complex challenges when it comes to operating safe, efficient, and compliant fleets, and we will continue to build on our ecosystem to support these needs,” he commented.

Details of all telematics devices type approved by TCA are available on the TCA website
