TCA upgrades Netcorp’s certification to support both RIM and TMA

29 July 2024

Transport Certification Australia (TCA) is pleased to announce that Netcorp, a registered provider of the Road Infrastructure Management (RIM) application, has now been certified for the Telematics Monitoring Application (TMA).

Netcorp is an Australian owned and operated IT company providing telematics solutions to heavy vehicle operators across Australia. The company has been a registered RIM service provider since 2022.

TMA and RIM telematics applications standardise the collection of telematics data from vehicles to help optimise the management of road networks.

As part of its role in the National Telematics Framework, TCA certifies application service providers so that they can offer transport operators with TMA schemes made available by Australia’s road transport agencies. TCA also type-approves telematics devices and Smart OBM systems for use with TMA schemes.

Netcorp’s certification includes the type-approval of its telematics device, NC366, which can be used with both RIM and TMA applications.

Paddy Goodall, General Manager of Service Delivery at TCA, congratulated Netcorp on the recognition.

“The certification recognises Netcorp’s ability to satisfy TCA’s performance-based functional and technical requirements to provide the level of assurance sought by stakeholders for a Level-2 assurance application like TMA,” he said.

“TCA is pleased with the interest shown by telematics service providers to enhance their level of services in relation to the National Telematics Framework. The growth in the marketplace of TMA and RIM service providers responds to a growing interest from road authorities, at all levels of government, to leverage data from telematics and other technologies to improve network management, enhance productivity and streamline decision-making,” he added.

Netcorp Managing Director Anthony La Malfa said: “Over the last few years, Netcorp has invested many of its resources into delivering high quality technological solutions to the heavy vehicle industry. Upgrading our existing RIM certification to a TMA certification and the type-approval [of our telematics device] was a natural part of our progression.”

“Many of our heavy vehicle clients have been affected by the paper to digital transformation in the industry. Accompanying our existing line of products and services with a certified TCA solution provides our long-term clients with confidence in the quality of our product and the capabilities of our team. It also provides more options for our future clients. We are excited about what our future holds with this extended relationship with TCA and look forward to the road ahead,” he added.

Details of all telematics devices type approved by TCA are available on the TCA website.
