Type-approval involves TCA assessing a device ‘type’ against the performance-based requirements contained in TCA’s Telematics Device Functional and Technical Specification.

Gavin Hill, General Manager, Strategy and Delivery at TCA said, “The new Teletrac Navman IQ Camera device has been type-approved by TCA, which allows it to be used for a growing range of productivity and safety schemes that use RIM and TMA, as well as Smart OBM (On-Board Mass).”

“Obtaining type-approval for the IQ Camera demonstrates Teletrac Navman’s commitment to the National Telematics Framework. It also highlights how the Framework enables innovation and technological developments by adopting a performance-based approach to functional and technical requirements,” he added.

Teletrac Navman’s Chief Product Officer Andrew Rossington said, “The IQ Camera blends video footage with telematics information for transport operators to gain high-level insights and data. It’s perfect for operators of mixed fleets or operators who are starting out on their video telematics journey, and seeking a solution that they can build on in the future.”
