Transtech Driven obtains type-approval for a range of its Telematics In-Vehicle Units (IVU) offerings
Transport Certification Australia (TCA) today announced that Transtech Driven has successfully obtained type-approval for five of its Telematics In-Vehicle Units (IVUs).
“We can confirm Transtech Driven is the first supplier of TCA type-approved Telematics IVUs,” said TCA Chief Executive Officer, Chris Koniditsiotis.
“With the first selection of Type-approved IVUs now available in the marketplace, end-users will benefit from having assurance that these IVUs satisfy the Telematics IVU Functional and Technical Specification.”
“Transtech Driven’s willingness to put their hardware up for scrutiny by seeking an independent assessment of five of its Telematics IVUs responds to the growing needs of a diverse customer base, and meets the different functional and technical requirements of businesses and end-users.”
“These five type-approved IVUs are equipped to support multiple applications, consistent with the principles of the National Telematics Framework, the Policy Framework for ITS in Australia, and international standards (ISO 15638).”
“The availability of type-approved Telematics IVU gives end-users peace of mind that their telematics hardware will have the capacity to accommodate the technical and functional prerequisites necessary to meet reliability, accuracy, integrity and security expectations.
Each type-approved Telematics IVU comes with a certificate of conformance, with a unique identifier, issued by TCA.
